When I'm not teaching my local middle school classes, I have the privilege of writing for VictoriaAvenue.org. It keeps me in touch with the latest trends in writing instruction and communication theory, which make my teaching practices more effective. I love learning how to best help students to find success academically and personally through writing; it's most gratifying when they start to make positive connections between the material they learn and their own lives. Writing has been an essential part of my life since childhood, so being able to use it as a teaching tool is truly fulfilling!
